Needle-Punched Non-Woven Geotextile

Heavy-Duty French Drain Fabric

Pro Fabric Supply offers a wide variety of geotextile fabric sizes for french drain installations in a couple of different weights. We also carry fabrics thicker than the ones below, but a thicker fabric can slow down water flow — the 4 oz and 6 oz here are our customers' most popular choices for building french drains.

Pro Tip

Be sure to use a true professional-grade fabric for your french drain. With french drains, much of the project cost is in the labor to dig the trench, haul the rock, wrap the pipe, and backfill the excavation. Many economy-grade fabrics sold at big-box stores or large online retailers (reflected by their very low price) decompose far faster than a true professional-grade needle-punched non-woven. Once the fabric fails, the drain follows — requiring a complete re-installation.

Highest Flow

4 oz Non-Woven French Drain Fabric

Providing the highest flow rates while keeping dirt and debris out, the 4 oz french drain fabric is perfect for installations where the highest water flow possible is desired.

Longest Lasting

6 oz Non-Woven French Drain Fabric

When the project calls for the longest-lasting drainage fabric, the 6 oz is an excellent choice. Its flow rates are lower than the 4 oz, but the robustness of the heavier weight makes it a solid pick for demanding projects where both material durability and longevity are required.
